Itinerary Description

Grade: Easy
Location: Uttrakhand
Maximum Altitude: 4023 mts
Duration: 5 Days

Nestled in the heart of Uttarakhand’s Garhwal region, the Gulabi Kantha Trek is a breathtaking journey through rolling meadows, dense forests, and panoramic Himalayan views. Perched at an altitude of around 4023 mts, this offbeat trail near Hanuman Chatti offers an untouched alternative to the more crowded high-altitude treks in India.

As the trail unfolds, trekkers walk through oak and rhododendron forests painted in shades of green and crimson, especially during spring. The route opens into vast alpine meadows where sunlight dances over velvety slopes, and wildflowers create a natural carpet of colors. On clear days, the skyline reveals magnificent peaks like Bandarpoonch, Kala Nag, Shivalik, and Srikantha glowing against the blue horizon.

Camp nights at Gulabi Kantha are a surreal experience — a crisp mountain breeze, skies bursting with stars, and the tranquil melody of nature surrounding you. The meadow itself glows with hues of pink during sunrise, a sight that gives this place its name — Gulabi Kantha, meaning “the rosy ridge.”

The trek is ideal for beginners and nature enthusiasts who crave solitude, scenic beauty, and a taste of authentic Himalayan wilderness. It’s not just a trek but a soulful escape into a land where every turn of the trail feels like a painting come to life.
