About

Southeast of Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, in the upper Kumaon Himalayas, is where you may find the Pindari Glacier. The Pindari Glacier, which is almost 3.2 km long and 1.5 km wide and provides upward force to the Pindari River before it reaches the Alakananda near Karnaprayag in the Garhwal region, is the most easily accessible of all glaciers. It is referred to as the soul of Kumaon by the locals with pride. The most accessible of all glacier hikes, Pindari glacier is situated in the stunning Kumaon Himalayas and draws both experienced and inexperienced hikers. The route to the glacier passes via the communities of Saung, Loharkhet, traverses the Dhakuri Pass, continues through Khati, the last inhabited settlement on the road, Dwali, Phurkia, and finally Zero Point, Pindar, where the track ends. Even though the Pindari River runs alongside much of the trail, it is usually hidden until after Khati. Without trekking the Pindari glacier, your experience with trekking in India is incomplete. It is located in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand at a height of 3,500 metres above sea level. Most people find it enjoyable to do the 90 km (56 mi) roundtrip Pindari Glacier trail trek in six days. Mountain biking and other adventure sports like ice mountaineering are also popular on the Pindari Glacier.
