Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Drive from Kathgodam (550 mts to Gogina (2000 mts) 235 km (10 to 11 hours)

Our journey begins with an early morning departure from Haldwani/Kathgodam, leaving behind the bustling plains as we ascend into the Kumaon Himalayas. The drive covers 235 kilometers over approximately ten to eleven hours, following winding mountain roads that offer increasingly dramatic views of the surrounding valleys. We stop for lunch at a local restaurant on the route. The final ascent to Gogina takes us through remote villages where traditional stone houses cling to steep slopes and terraced fields create beautiful patterns on the mountainsides. Upon arrival in Gogina, we settle into our guesthouse and take a short acclimatization walk (optional) through the village. The evening is spent making final preparations for our trek, organizing equipment and enjoying a hearty home-cooked meal as the last light fades from the surrounding peaks.

Day 2

Trek from Gogina (2000 mts) to Namik (2150 mts) 5 to 6 km ( 5 to 6 hours)

We wake to the sounds of the mountain village coming to life and enjoy a nourishing breakfast before beginning our trek to Namik. The trail starts with a gentle descent through forests of pine and oak, with the morning light filtering through the trees in dramatic shafts. We follow a musical mountain stream for much of the way, crossing it several times on natural stone bridges. The forest is rich with birdlife, and we might spot the colorful Himalayan monal or hear the distinctive call of the barbet. After approximately five to six hours of walking, we arrive at Namik, famous for its natural hot springs. We set up camp and have time to soak our tired muscles in the therapeutic waters before dinner. The evening is spent relaxing, sharing stories and watching the stars emerge over the surrounding peaks.

Day 3

Trek from Namik (2150 mts) to Bajimanian Kharak (3000 mts) 6 km (6 hours)

After breakfast, we begin our ascent to Bajimanian Kharak, climbing steadily through forests that gradually thin as we gain altitude. The trail offers increasingly spectacular views of the surrounding valleys, with occasional glimpses of snow-capped peaks in the distance. We stop for lunch at a scenic viewpoint, enjoying our packed meals with panoramic mountain vistas. The final approach to Bajimanian Kharak takes us through beautiful alpine meadows dotted with wildflowers in summer months. Upon reaching our campsite at 3,000 meters, we set up our tents in this traditional grazing ground surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. The evening is spent absorbing the serene beauty of this high-altitude sanctuary, with the sunset painting the surrounding peaks in shades of gold and pink.

Day 4

Trek from Bajimanian Kharak (3000 mts) to Thal Tok (3400 mts) 5 km (5 hours)

Today's trek is shorter but takes us to higher altitudes, requiring a slower pace and careful attention to acclimatization. The trail climbs steadily through rocky terrain, with the vegetation growing sparser as we ascend. The views become increasingly dramatic with every step, revealing new peaks and valleys that have remained hidden until now. After approximately five hours of walking, we arrive at Thal Tok, a stunning campsite at 3,400 meters situated in a dramatic bowl surrounded by snow-dusted peaks. We set up camp with plenty of time to absorb the magnificent scenery and take photographs of the panoramic views. The thinner air at this altitude reminds us that we are truly in the high Himalayas now, and we spend a quiet evening enjoying a warm meal before retiring to our tents under a spectacular canopy of stars.

Day 5

Trek from Thal tok (3400 mts) Ranthan (Top 3900 mts) 2 to 3 km 3 hours ) to Parava Thor (2800 mts) 5 to 6 km (4 to 5 hours)

We begin this pivotal day with an early start after having our breakfast, carrying only essential items for our summit push. The climb to Ranthan Top is steep but relatively short, taking us to 3,900 meters where we're rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of Himalayan giants. We spend substantial time at the summit, absorbing the magnificent views and capturing photographs of this unforgettable vista. The descent to Parava Thor takes us through a dramatic high-altitude landscape of rock and scrub, with the trail following a ridge line that offers continuous spectacular views. After approximately four to five hours of walking from the summit, we arrive at Parava Thor, our campsite for the night situated beside a crystal-clear mountain stream. The evening is spent reflecting on the day's achievements while enjoying our final camp dinner in the wilderness.

Day 6

Trek from Parava Thor (2800 mts) to Gogina (2000 mts) 11 km ( 5 to 6 hours)

Our final day of trekking begins with a leisurely breakfast beside the stream, followed by a steady descent through forests that grow increasingly dense as we lose altitude. The trail offers new perspectives on the landscape we've traversed over the past days, with familiar peaks now seen from different angles. We stop for lunch at a beautiful clearing in the forest, enjoying our final packed meal in the mountains. The last few hours of walking bring us back to Gogina, where we're greeted by the familiar sights and sounds of the village. We have time to freshen up and relax before enjoying a celebratory dinner with our trekking team, sharing stories and reflecting on the journey we've completed together.

Day 7

Drive from Gogina (2000 mts) to Kathgodam (550 mts) Altitude Kathgodam: 550 235 km (10 to 11 hours)

We wake to our final morning in the mountains, enjoying a last breakfast with views of the surrounding peaks before beginning our drive back to Haldwani/Kathgodam. The journey down from the mountains feels both triumphant and bittersweet—our bodies are tired but our spirits are full of mountain magic. We stop for lunch at a roadside restaurant, gradually transitioning back to the world of paved roads and bustling towns. Upon reaching Haldwani/Kathgodam in the late afternoon, we bid farewell to our trekking team and begin our journeys home, carrying with us not just photographs but lasting memories of a wilderness experience that touched both our hearts and our souls.
