Best Time to Go Skiing

The months of January and February usually offer the best skiing conditions. The snowfall is at its peak, and the slopes are covered with fresh, powdery snow. The temperature can drop significantly, often reaching sub-zero levels, so be prepared for cold weather. However, this is when you'll find the best skiing conditions and a winter wonderland.

Difficulty Level

As this is an advanced level course, it is a prerequisite to have completed the intermediary and basic level skiing courses. Moreover, skiing demands physical stamina. A robust core and good overall fitness are essential to meet the challenges of this course.

Detailed Itinerary


Day 1

Arrive in Gulmarg

Check into your rooms and settle in. In the evening, we will have a briefing session wherein we will share the program outline with you.

Day 2

Get familiar with the slopes with safety & gear information

After meeting with skiing trainers and collecting ski gear, we head to the slopes. We spend the entire afternoon refreshing the techniques learned during the Basic Skiing Course. After rehearsals, we will head back to our resort for lunch and rest. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure

Day 3

Intermediate powder slopes Practice

Today we will practice skiing on the intermediate powder slopes in a controlled and secure manner. We will venture into the vicinity near Khongdori (Phase 1), navigate through jungle trails, and explore direct lines adjacent to the Gondola routes.


 

Day 4

Today we will practice skiing on the intermediate powder slopes in a controlled and secure manner. We will venture into the vicinity near Khongdori (Phase 1), navigate through jungle trails, and explore direct lines adjacent to the Gondola routes.


 

Day 5

Ascending to higher slopes, above Phase 1

Over the next five days, our primary focus will be ascending to higher slopes. During this period, we'll primarily use the chair car, situated above Phase 1. It offers a more extensive playing area on both sides. Our vigilant instructors will closely monitor your technique and guide improvements whenever necessary.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a level 4 adventure on the Bikat Rating Scale.

This makes it mandatory for you to have high-altitude experience of preferably multiple treks marked at level 3 on the WMRS. The altitude, the terrain, and the nature of the climb demand a certain level of endurance and a need for you to be aware of how your body reacts to the various features of the high-altitude environment.

This is a list of essential items for individuals doing the trek with Bikat Adventures. This list contains only those items which the participants are required to bring with them. The list excludes those items which are provided by Bikat Adventures on the trek. We have divided the items into five categories. All the items in the list are essential except for those marked as optional.

Cash Refund (All events including Friendship Peak Expedition except other Mountaineering Expeditions) - Cash refunds are only available for bookings made without any discounts, such as promotional codes or dynamic discounts. Additionally, cash refunds are not available for shifted batch bookings or if the booking status is "Booked". The amount of the refund will be determined based on the following guidelines:

Cancellations made up to 45 days before the departure date

5% deduction

Cancellations made up to 31 days before the departure date
