Best Time: The best time to scale the summit is during the month of March to October. At this time of the year the summit provides the best conditions suitable to scale the summit.

You will be travelling to Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal. Here all your formalities in relation to expedition ahead will be done. Also you will be required to change your currency to Nepal rupee.

This is the combined journey of flight and foot from Kathmandu to Lukla and from there to Phakding by doing trekking. At Lukla, we are supposed to present first of our two permits before proceeding ahead.

The route to Namche Bazar from Phakding is composed of path with lots of ascends and descends. The route will take you to Namche Bazar which is the administrative point of Khumbu region. We will stop at Namche Bazar for our overnight stay.

From Namche you will proceed to Tengboche which is a small village. This will require trekking along the way laden with stones. The route is composed of several high and low points which will be the test of the strength.

The route from Tengboche to Dingboche passes through Pangboche, a small village where you will take the tea or lunch break. For the entire route you will be doing the trekking which will help in getting adapted to the environment.

The stay at Dingboche will help you in greater degree of acclimatization with the environment. It is important to develop adaptability as with the rising altitude you will be encountering more difficult situations.

A trek of 5 km which passes through a flat trail. However since there are no facilities available on route, it is important to carry the enough supplies.

This route is composed of the steep climb which will be a good exercise for you. After that it is a flat trail for you to your next destination

There will be fair amount of trekking to be done along the route from Labouche to Everest Base Camp through Gorakshep. You need to do some amount of trekking to climb up to the base camp.

This stretches from gorakshep to Kala patthar iis a difficult trail to pass through. It will also provide the spectacular view of Mt. Everest. From here on we will proceed to Pheriche through 1300m descent.

The descent to Namche Bazar from Pheriche  iis a moderate one which gives beautiful view of the mountains and valley. 

 

This will be the last leg of the entire expedition which will take you back to Phakding via Lukla. The journey will take the same route as was the earlier one.

The expedition ends with the spirit of triumph and feeling of having achieved an experience of lifetime. You got to Kathmandu for your departure from the expedition.

Is this trek good for me?

Everest Base Camp Trek is made only for experienced trekkers who want to test their limits. The challenges faced in the trek should not be underestimated. You should attempt this EBC trek only If you have already done a trek that climbs to 4700-5000 metres. It is recommended not to opt EBC trek if you cannot get acclimatized in the mountains of Nepal. Besides you need to have a strong physical endurance to complete this trek. Everest Base Camp Trek difficulty level on TWM rating scale is 5.

Return airfare will cost you between INR 10,000 - INR 15,000 By Road: The road distance between Delhi and Kathmandu is 1,152 km. A DTC service is operated on this route that will cost you around INR 5,000 for a return journey. You can also drive to Kathmandu in your own vehicle. By Rail: There are multiple trains operating daily from Delhi to Gorakhpur near the India - Nepal border. From Gorakhpur, you will have to take a bus to the Sunauli across the border. From Sunauli, you will have to take another bus to Kathmandu. Expect the return journey to cost you between INR 4,000 - INR 7,000

What is the minimum & maximum age limit?

The minimum age limit is 13 years. However, minors aged between 13 to 17 should be accompanied by their parents or guardians. If you are above the age of 60, kindly carry a medical certificate from your doctor that deem you fit for adventure activities like trekking.

What kind of tents and sleeping bags will be provided to us?

Since Everest Base Camp is not a camping trek, tents and sleeping bags are not required.

Are there any washroom/toilet facilities on the trek?

Gaiters and microspikes will not be provided by us. If needed, then you can rent the same from Kathmandu or Namche Bazaar. However, these are not needed for Nepal treks.

There may be fresh snowfall in the region depending on the weather. There will be permanent snow accumulation at higher altitudes, though not necessarily on the trail itself.

Is there an option to offload my backpack?

You can offload your backpack (up to 10 kg) on this trek. This portage fee is included in the trek cost.

Who will lead us on the trek?

A team of the participant will be led by a course certified trek leader and a local guide. All participants are requested to abide by the directions of the leader. There will also be a team of kitchen staff and porters on the trek. We maintain 1:8 ratio of trek leader and participants. All our trek leaders and staff have certified training in first-aid and rescue operation.

Is the trekking pole necessary?

It is not mandatory but it is more convenient with the pole. If you don?t want to buy one, you can rent it from us on minimal daily basis charges. You can request the renting link from us.

Are there any local stores/shops from where I can shop trekking necessities?

You can buy your trekking necessities from Kathmandu. There may be some items available at shops in Namche Bazaar, or other villages on the trail as well.

Is it safe for a solo woman traveller to trek in Fixed departures?

Yes, it is absolutely safe for a solo woman to travel in fix departures. Women on the trek will be sharing a tent with each other. In case you are the only woman on the trek, you will be given a separate tent.

Will you give certificates on completion of trek?

Yes, e-certificates will be given at the end of each trek provided that you completed it. It will bear your name, the trek, and the maximum altitude you achieved on the trek.

Will there be water source on the trail?

Water bottles are available for purchase on the trail. However, if you plan to get water from the local water sources then please carry chlorine tablets/ water purification tablets.

Is there an option for currency exchange?

Indian Currency of INR 100 and below work in Nepal. However, the new INR 2000 and INR 500 notes are not accepted at all. The new notes work in the cities, but people at other places might not accept the new notes. Get your currency exchanged to Nepalese currency from Kathmandu.

Cancelation Policy


Cash Refund (All events including Friendship Peak Expedition except other Mountaineering Expeditions) - Cash refunds are only available for bookings made without any discounts, such as promotional codes or dynamic discounts. Additionally, cash refunds are not available for shifted batch bookings or if the booking status is "Booked". The amount of the refund will be determined based on the following guidelines:


  • • Cancellations made up to 31 days before the departure date will incur a 5% deduction.
  • • Cancellations made between 30 and 21 days before the departure date incur a 20% deduction.
  • • Cancellations made between 20 and 11 days before the departure date incur a 50% deduction.
  • • Cancellations made less than 11 days before the departure date are not eligible for a cash refund.

Refunds will be processed back to the bank account or credit card account used to pay for the event i.e., the source of payment. The amount refunded will be based on the net amount paid for the event, excluding additional components such as transportation, rent, or portage.

You should attempt this EBC trek only If you have already done a trek that climbs to 4700-5000 metres. It is recommended not to opt EBC trek if you cannot get acclimatized in the mountains of Nepal. A DTC service is operated on this route that will cost you around INR 5,000 for a return journey. You can also drive to Kathmandu in your own vehicle. By Rail: There are multiple trains operating daily from Delhi to Gorakhpur near the India - Nepal border. From Gorakhpur, you will have to take a bus to the Sunauli across the border. From Sunauli, you will have to take another bus to Kathmandu. Expect the return journey to cost you between INR 4,000 - INR 7,000

You can also drive or fly to Pokhara in Central Nepal and explore the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri regions - rife with vast trekking options as well! Another must-see attraction is the Royal Palace, the site of the infamous 2001 massacre of the Royal Family by the then Crown Prince, and now converted into the Narayanhiti Palace Museum.

What is the minimum & maximum age limit?

A team of the participant will be led by a course certified trek leader and a local guide. All participants are requested to abide by the directions of the leader. There will also be a team of kitchen staff and porters on the trek. We maintain 1:8 ratio of trek leader and participants. All our trek leaders and staff have certified training in first-aid and rescue operation.

Is the trekking pole necessary?

Yes, it is absolutely safe for a solo woman to travel in fix departures. Women on the trek will be sharing a tent with each other. In case you are the only woman on the trek, you will be given a separate tent.

Will you give certificates on completion of trek?

Yes, e-certificates will be given at the end of each trek provided that you completed it. It will bear your name, the trek, and the maximum altitude you achieved on the trek.

Will there be water source on the trail?

Water bottles are available for purchase on the trail. However, if you plan to get water from the local water sources then please carry chlorine tablets/ water purification tablets.

Is there an option for currency exchange?

Indian Currency of INR 100 and below work in Nepal. However, the new INR 2000 and INR 500 notes are not accepted at all. The new notes work in the cities, but people at other places might not accept the new notes. Get your currency exchanged to Nepalese currency from Kathmandu.

Cash Refund (All events including Friendship Peak Expedition except other Mountaineering Expeditions) - Cash refunds are only available for bookings made without any discounts, such as promotional codes or dynamic discounts. Additionally, cash refunds are not available for shifted batch bookings or if the booking status is "Booked". The amount of the refund will be determined based on the following guidelines:


  • • Cancellations made up to 31 days before the departure date will incur a 5% deduction.
  • • Cancellations made between 30 and 21 days before the departure date incur a 20% deduction.
  • • Cancellations made between 20 and 11 days before the departure date incur a 50% deduction.
  • • Cancellations made less than 11 days before the departure date are not eligible for a cash refund.

Refunds will be processed back to the bank account or credit card account used to pay for the event i.e., the source of payment. The amount refunded will be based on the net amount paid for the event, excluding additional components such as transportation, rent, or portage.
