Introduction
Mukta Top Trek is indeed an enchanting winter trek. It is one of the isolated treks surrounded by spectacular meadows, forests, and peaks. It is located near Uttarkashi of Uttrakhand with an altitude of 3603 Meters. Also, not to forget the summit also gives competition to Kedarkantha, Dayara Bugyal, and Brahmatal treks. Mukta top trek is perfect for beginners as well as experienced trekkers. The major highlight is its offbeat Winter trek.
Undeniably, the panoramic views of the mighty peaks will make it all worth it. Such as Gangotri Peak (6577 M), Mt Jaonli (6632 M), Banderpoonch 1 (6316 M), Banderpoonch 2 (6102 M) and more. It is an easy-moderate trek. Somewhat similar to Kedarkantha, Dayara Bugyal, and Brahmatal trails. Also, it is recommended that you must be physically healthy and have good endurance for colds.
Best Time to Trek:
Mukta Top Trek is a winter trek and the most preferable months are from December to February. The whole grassy lands and pastures are submerged in a thick sheet of snow. During the day time, the temperatures are between -5/-6 degrees, and at night around -10/-12 degrees. From knee-deep snow to glistening frozen lakes. You will surely have the experience of a lifetime.
Difficulty Level:
Mukta top trek is an easy-moderate level trek. Especially, the great option for beginners. The most important thing is you need to be prepared physically and mentally, The winter-laden landscapes will transport you to a fairy wonderland. Especially, for the beginner's winter trek is recommended that you learn about preparations, techniques, etc.

Chaithathar (2926.08 mts) to Mukta Tal (3291.84 mts) 4 km (4 hours)
Mukta Tal (3291.84 mts) to Mukta Top (3602.7 mts) to Kuari (2371.6 mts) 9 km (7 hours)
Kuari (2371.6 mts) to Kuflaon (1402.08 mts) 6 km (4 hours)and drive to Dehradun 160 km (7 to 8 hours).
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Drive Dehradun to Kuflon (1402.08 mts) 160 (7 to 8 hours )
Highlight of the day: Scenic long drive through many beautiful hamlets.
Today you need to drive from Dehradun. Start early morning as it is going to be a 7 to 8-hour drive to Kuflon. The drive will be filled with scenic aura filled with meadows, and hamlets of Uttarakhand. We recommend reaching Ghuttu village by 3 pm. So that you can take a rest for the day and gear for the next day of the trek. Meanwhile, you can also explore the cultural village. Overnight stay at Kuflon village.
Day 2
Kuflon (1402.08 mts) to Shiladuni (2067.1 mts) 4 km (4 hours)
Highlight of the day: Campsite of Shiladuni.
Today we will move out after breakfast. We will start from Kuflon on a marked trail. This trail is filled with surprises. You will come across the forests of Rhododendrons, also, brown and green oak trees. After a while, you will also have a steep climb for the next 3 km until you reach Shiladuni. After reaching Shiladuni you can explore the campsite area by yourself. Overnight stay at the campsite.
Day 3
Shiladuni (2067.1 mts) to Chaithathar (2926.08 mts) 5 km (6 hours)
Highlight of the day: stream crossing over logs and the scenic views of the valley.
Today we will move towards our next campsite right after breakfast. Today’s trek will be a little more challenging as compared to the previous day. There will be a more steep ascent, a stream crossing over the logs. eventually, leading you to the vastest vantage point. From there you can have amazing 360 degrees views of the valley. After that, you will have to cross a little more forest area and you will reach Chaithathar. Overnight stay at the campsite.
Day 4
Chaithathar (2926.08 mts) to Mukta Tal (3291.84 mts) 4 km (4 hours)
Highlight of the day: Clear views of Bandarpoonch, Kalanag, and Nagtibba peaks.
Today is day 4 and we will start after the refreshments. Today's trail has some gradual ascent. And it leads to the astonishing Clear views of Bandarpoonch, Kalanag, and Nagtibba peaks. After 30 mins ascent you will reach Mukta Tal, a small pristine lake surrounded by tall oaks. Overnight camp at Mukta Tal.
Day 5
Mukta Tal (3291.84 mts) to Mukta Top (3602.7 mts) to Kuari (2371.6 mts) 9 km (7 hours)
Highlight of the day: Mukta Top summit and Clear views of Gnagotri, Jaonli, Bandarpoonch, and Kalanag peaks from the summit.
Today is the main summit day. And it is going to be a challenging long day. Today's trail has some gradual ascents along with long walks through oaks and deodars. The trail leads to Mukta Top Summit. And from there, you get the grand views of Gnagotri, Jaonli, Bandarpoonch, and Kalanag peaks from the summit. Cherish your moments at the top. After that, we will descend on the same trail to Kuari. Overnight stay at Kuari
Day 6
Kuari (2371.6 mts) to Kuflaon (1402.08 mts) 6 km (4 hours)and drive to Dehradun 160 km (7 to 8 hours).
Highlight of the day: Back to Dehradun. You can explore Dehradun & famous food joints.
Today will be the last day of the Mukta Top Trek. We will start early morning from Kuari to Kuflaon. The descent is easy and not rough. You will be returning to the first original campsite. From where your journey to Mukta's top trek began. By afternoon you will reach Kuflaon and from there you can take shared cabs or taxis to Dehradun. You will be reaching Dehradun by late evening. Also, if you have enough time you can visit the Paltan bazaar of Dehradun and go shopping too. You could either relax at Dehradun and treat yourself to cozy cafes or you can take the bus to your respective destination.
