Itinerary Description
Introduction
The Pangarchulla peak trek is quite thrilling and adventurous. It offers you to explore the famous lord curzon trail. This trek might sound daunting but it's more of a thrill mixed with challenges. Undoubtedly, you will get mesmerizing views on the trek. The Pangarchulla trek is a must-do for all mountaineers. It also offers some historical glimpses as well. Also, it is non-technical. But it does require some previous experience in high altitude trek.
Pangachulla peak trek is situated at the height of 4590 M. The trail is demanding at times with some rocky ascents. You get the mesmerizing views of Nanda Devi India’s second-highest peak. Also, Dronagiri, Hathi Gowda, Chowkhanba, Mana, etc. From the chaos of small towns, you will land up in huge vast meadows following the trail. The Pangachulla trail is filled with goof and rough ascent, edges, thick forest, and more.
Best Time to Trek:
The best time to trek the Pangarchulla peak trek is from March end to April. It is quite a seasoned trek that requires pre-plannings. This is the spring season in Uttarakhand. There are so many risks associated with it snow. Till march, the routes are quite difficult due to excessive snow. Especially, the summiting would be difficult in a lot of snow. And after April the snow melts which makes the route highly unfavorable and unsafe to trek. Among the boulders, there are huge gaps. Which is a very difficult situation for a trekker to traverse. Because of these reasons, the Pangarchulla peak trek summit has to be done before the snow melts.
Difficulty Level:
Pangarchulla peak is a difficult trek. There are multiple reasons why pangarchulla trek is difficult. Such as every day there will be altitude gain. As you keep moving forward the nature of the terrain changes, and the weather changes. Trails are challenging for sure and uneven too at times. Also, on some days trekking hours can go up to 10 hours too. Especially, the summit day might go till 12 hours. Trekking on hard snow boulders with really tricky sections is very time-consuming. The summit climb is more difficult, steep, and uneven exposed trials. We highly recommend that you must have high-altitude trek experience before you go for pangarchulla peak trek.
