Itinerary Description

Grade: Challenging
Location: NEPAL
Maximum Altitude: 5160 mts
Duration: 14 Days

The Manaslu Base Camp and Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most spectacular yet less-crowded trekking experiences, offering an immersive journey around Mount Manaslu (8,163 meters), the eighth-highest mountain in the world. Celebrated for its raw Himalayan wilderness, rich cultural heritage, and dramatic high-altitude landscapes, this trek is an ideal choice for adventure seekers looking beyond the heavily traveled Everest and Annapurna regions.

The trek begins in the lower hills of western Nepal, following the scenic Budhi Gandaki River through lush subtropical forests, terraced farmlands, and traditional Gurung villages. As the trail steadily gains altitude, the landscape transforms dramatically—dense green forests give way to alpine meadows, rugged glacial moraines, and towering snow-covered Himalayan peaks.

One of the major highlights of the journey is the Manaslu Base Camp, which offers breathtaking close-up views of Manaslu’s massive north face, surrounding glaciers, and rugged mountain ridgelines. From here, the trail continues into the culturally rich Nupri region, an area deeply influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. Colorful prayer flags flutter across mountain passes, intricately carved mani walls line the trails, and centuries-old monasteries stand as enduring symbols of the region’s spiritual heritage.

Located within the restricted Manaslu Conservation Area, the trek winds through remote Himalayan valleys, ancient settlements, and pristine mountain terrain. With fewer trekkers and limited access, the Manaslu Circuit delivers a truly off-the-beaten-path trekking experience in Nepal, combining untouched natural beauty with authentic cultural encounters.
