Day 1
Arrive in Pokhara (822 mts)
Your Poon Hill Trek begins with your arrival in Pokhara (822 m), the gateway to the Annapurna region. This scenic city is nestled beside Phewa Lake and surrounded by the towering peaks of the Himalayas, offering stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere. Upon arrival, you can relax and explore the vibrant lakeside area, local markets, and cultural spots while preparing for the trek ahead. Pokhara also serves as the ideal place to organize trekking permits, check your gear, and meet your guides before starting the adventure.
Day 2
Drive from Pokhara (822 mts) to Hile (1470 mts)46 km (2 to 3 hours) and Trek to Ulleri (2080 mts) 3 km (4 Hours)
The journey begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara (822 mts) to Hile (1,470 mts), covering about 46 km in 2 to 3 hours. The drive follows winding mountain roads, passing rivers, terraced hillsides, and small rural settlements that offer a glimpse of local life in the lower Annapurna region.
From Hile, the trek starts toward Ulleri (2,080 mts). The trail climbs steadily through farmland and forested paths, including a series of stone steps that make the walk both challenging and rewarding. After approximately 3 km of trekking, taking around 4 hours, you reach Ulleri, a traditional Magar village known for its cool mountain atmosphere and peaceful surroundings, making it a perfect place to rest for the night.
Day 3
Trek from Ulleri (2080 mts) to Ghorepani (2860 mts) 10 km (5 to 6 hours)
The day begins with a gradual ascent from Ulleri (2,080 mts) to Ghorepani (2,860 mts), covering approximately 10 km in 5 to 6 hours. The trail passes through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests, offering cool shade and a peaceful trekking atmosphere. Along the way, small rest stops such as Banthanti provide chances to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. As the path continues upward, the air becomes cooler and the landscape more alpine. Reaching Ghorepani, a well-known mountain village, rewards trekkers with fresh mountain views and a comfortable place to prepare for the next day’s sunrise hike to Poon Hill.
Day 4
Trek from Ghorepani (2860 mts) to Poon Hill (3210 mts) and back to Ghorepani (2860 mts) 3 km (2 hours) both side and trek to Tadapani (2630 mts) 9 km (5 to 6 hours)
The day starts early with a rewarding hike from Ghorepani (2,860 mts) to Poon Hill (3,210 mts). The uphill trail takes about 2 hours round trip, covering roughly 3 km, and leads to one of the best viewpoints in the Annapurna region. From the top, you can enjoy a breathtaking sunrise and panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, including Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South.
After descending back to Ghorepani for breakfast, the trek continues toward Tadapani (2,630 mts). This section of the trail covers about 9 km and takes 5 to 6 hours, passing through dense forests filled with rhododendron and oak trees. The path offers a peaceful walking experience with occasional mountain glimpses before reaching Tadapani, a quiet settlement surrounded by natural beauty and cool mountain air.
Day 5
Trek from Tadapani (2630 mts) to Ghandruk (1940 mts) 8 km (3 to 4 hours) and drive to pokhra 50 km (3 to 4 hours)
The final day begins with a pleasant downhill trek from Tadapani (2,630 mts) to Ghandruk (1,940 mts). The trail descends through lush forests and terraced farmland, covering about 8 km in 3 to 4 hours. Along the way, the changing landscape offers lovely views and a relaxed walking pace.
Ghandruk is a beautiful Gurung village known for its traditional stone houses, rich culture, and close-up views of the Annapurna range. After exploring the village, a scenic 50 km drive takes you back to Pokhara, requiring around 3 to 4 hours. This drive marks the end of the Poon Hill Trek, leaving lasting memories of Himalayan scenery and village life.
Travelers can use this time to rest, shop for souvenirs, or explore the city before continuing to their next destination.
Day 6
Departure from pokhara
After completing the unforgettable Poon Hill Trek, the journey concludes with your departure from Pokhara (822 m).
